Experience the best of the world in one country and blend all the joys of surfing, travelling an inspiring coastline and give something back to the local community all at the same time.

1. Many countries in one

The diverse landscape of South Africa is truly phenomenal.  Few countries in the world can boast such dynamic variety of scenery experience. Travellers can expect a journey exposure that is unrivalled by many other places.  Ocean, forest, mountain, wetlands, deserts overflow from this African paradise.

2. Magnificent MultiCulture

Home to the Xhosa, Zulu, Sotho and Tswana people, to mention but a few. South Africa’s raw and pristine coastline has for generations been the homestead to the country’s oldest native cultures.

3. Weather

In a word, Hot. For the most part at least. Temperatures and humidity level vary from place to place.  Durban is renowned for her humidity and summer temps reaching well over 30 degrees celcius with milder temps in winter, while Cape Town can be just as warm without being so humid with a moody winter. The weather system is as vast as her landscape. You can expect to experience the perfect, blue sky, cloudless days coupled with the perfect storms. Watch lightening ripple across the sky over the horizon and shudder as nature bangs her drums in the clouds. For the most part the weather is pretty ideal. Warm, sunny and wonderful. You can most definitely expect to swear and get your tan on!

4. Good Surf

South Africa really does have it all when it comes to surfing. From the perfect point breaks, like Jeffreys Bay, to friendly beach breaks and heavy barrelling reefs, there is something for everyone, and always just around the corner.

The South African coastline is easily one of the most wave-rich coastlines in the world, and with the right local knowledge and advice, you’ll be surfing world-class and skill-appropriate waves in no time.

5. Unforgettable experience

Although surfing will always be a focus, there is also loads of time to discover South Africa’s other top attractions, including climbing up Table Mountain, swimming with the penguins at Boulders Beach, wine tasting tours of award-winning estates, bungee jumping off the worlds highest bungee jump and much, much more.

6. The Ticket To Ride Combo

In combination with an unforgettable surfing and cultural experience, you also end up gaining a worthwhile qualification.

The 10-week South Africa Instructor Course offered by TTR will set you steadfast in the place to be living your surf instructor dream job!  We feel that this trip strikes a beautiful balance between the ultimate surfing experience of a lifetime and preparing for your ISA Level 1 Surf Qualification and Surf Lifeguard Qualification.
