Overview

Explore undiscovered surf spots in enigmatic Mozambique!

Our three week adventure enables you to explore the untapped magic of Mozambique. For the travelling surfer, Mozambique is heaven on earth, with its array of world-class tropical surf and unique vibe, that once experienced is never forgotten.

Travelling South Africans have long spoken of the perfect sand-bottom point breaks that can be found up in Mozambique, and as more surfers ventured there, more waves were discovered. Recently a wave known as 'The African Kirra’ took the surfing world by storm - but it's just one of the many spots we've been tapping into for years.

On this trip, time will slow down and you'll gracefully slip into the beauty of African time - surfing when there are waves, exploring when inspirations calls and relaxing in a hammock when you're good and tired.

*If your travel time is tight, please get in touch with us directly about a shorter 'fly in fly out' trip option!

What to Expect

Expect to get a real flavour of life in Africa! See the countryside en route to Mozambique, wave at the friendly smiling faces and indulge in the tasty mix of Portuguese-style food with a Mozambican twist. Life is rich in Mozambique.

Surf Coaching

The water is tropical and there's always a wave to catch, whether you're surfing the perfect sand-bottomed points or revelling in the beach breaks. One of the best things in Mozambique is the sheer length of the waves available, meaning you really get time to improve your surfing out in the water. After each wave, you'll also be able to speak to your instructor whilst running back to the top of the point to catch your next wave. With immediate and frequent feedback from internationally qualified coaches, your surfing will progress in leaps and bounds.

Trip Timeline

Here you'll find a day by day breakdown of your course.

  • Welcome to Mozambique

After a long drive and a stopover near Maputo you'll reach your destination of Tofo and head straight for a surf. The first week in Tofo is spent settling into the area and getting to know the waves. You'll soon enjoy two long surfs each day in the tropical waters of Mozambique.

  • Push your surfing to new heights

The second week in Tofo will see you push your surfing to new heights. The Trip Leaders will film and photograph sessions to get your surfing to the next level. You will also put the cars into 4*4 mode and go on a day trip to find a different wave, as well as experience the natural high of an ocean safari.

  • Pomene and beyond

You will head to Pomene, situated further into Mozambique, for one of the best kept hidden gems. Be prepared for an adventure as this is probably the most 'out there' location we visit anywhere, it's sheer beauty will blow your mind. You'll then commence your journey back to South Africa. The final night in Durban will be spent at the Mozam-bik restaurant, where you'll reminisce on what was the trip of a lifetime. Your footsteps in the sand will fade away, but your memories won’t.
