What to Expect
Whatever your surfing ability, you'll soon improve with three weeks of surfing, develop excellent core strength and flexibility with five yoga sessions a week, and discover more about the 'Pearl of the Indian Ocean'.
All of our surf instructors hold internationally recognised qualifications and are there to ensure overall progression, as well as your safety in the water.
This trip will see you hone more than just your surfing skills as you'll visit elephants, leopards and other wildlife in their natural environment at Yala East National Park. You'll be left awestruck on a bicycle tour of the villages that were constructed for survivors of the 2004 tsunami and surf Arugam Bay - the world famous point break.

In Ahangama the accommodation is either shared on the beach side or private in double rooms overlooking the Lagoon, just across the road in the Jungle. These rooms have air con and a few more creature comforts. In Arugam Bay we have traditional cabanas right on the beach which sleep 2-3 people each, so expect to be woken up by the waves crashing into the bay every day.
Yoga Our Sri Lankan Surf Camps include five yoga sessions per week, led by experienced yoga instructors. Yoga is the perfect way to stretch out and unwind after a surf, while the flexibility and core strength developed through yoga is also hugely beneficial to your overall surfing performance.
Video Analysis This is a tried and tested technique that helps you to improve your surfing. We take lots of photos throughout your trip to help you improve as well and make for inspiring memory joggers when you're back home.
Yala National park We will spend a morning at Yala East National park where you'll get the chance to see elephants, leopards and a whole host of wildlife in their natural environment.
Bicycle Tsunami Village Tour Led by our local guide, you will spend the morning riding around the Arugam Bay / Pottville area visiting villages that were struck worst by the 2004 tsunami and pay your respects.
Nightlife A couple of nights a week, you'll head out with the crew for an evening out in Mirissa, Galle or Hikkaduwa.

Welcome to Sri Lanka 1 DayUpon arrival you will be greeted at the airport by your Trip Leader and driven to the Surf Camp in Ahangama. Here you will be introduced to the team and given time to settle in before we tuck in to dinner and drinks 'Sri Lanka style'. You will need to arrive in Colombo anytime on the 26th March 2017.

Departure day - 16th April 2016 1 DayOn your final night we will cook up a big BBQ to celebrate an awesome trip, and hopefully be up early to enjoy one last dawnie surf! Feeling refreshed, flexible and ripping on a surfboard, the team will then take you to the airport for the final farewell. Your flight can depart anytime on this date.
The SW Coast is very consistent in March, usually overhead high waves with offshore wind until 11am and then light winds in the middle of the day. This is because it’s mid season and although the weather is glorious, the larger sweeps start to roll in.
In Arugam Bay the surf is usually smaller in April as it is the start of the season, so expect fewer crowds. The wave still breaks perfectly every day, meaning it's a fantastic introduction to point break reef surfing.
You can get two rotis and a milo for 100RS (50p) and rice and curry for 200RS (£1), so not much!
Around 2-3 hours - perfect for a bit of shut eye pre surf!
It takes around 7-8 hours to get through the jungle and beautiful hill country, where you usually see elephants in their natural habitat and lots of other wildlife.
Flights need to be booked into Colombo International airport, which is also known as Bandaranaike and Katunayake airport. There are direct flights with Sri Lankan Airlines from London Heathrow to Colombo airport. We’ll pick you up from there and then head down to the coast for adventures, surf and yoga galore. Arrive on the 26th March | Depart on the 16th April 2017.
