Splitboarding is the art of exploring the backcountry on a snowboard which can split into two down the middle and form two "skis" for walking up mountains using skins under your own steam. It is becoming more and more popular as people seek to access areas considered inaccessible to ordinary riders for a completely different mountain experience.

Learn how to use touring skins to walk up snowy terrain and find pleasure in the challenging ups, as well as the obvious thrills of the downs. Short tours of around two hours will see you cover around 800 metres of ascent, while a long tour will last about four hours with a mixture of ascent and descent. The sense of achievement you'll have as a result of skiing parts of the mountain not served by the lift system will be epic!

If you are a confident rider who is happy playing in the powder, love gaining a bit of altitude and on the look-out for a new winter challenge, then ask us for more information about our splitboard trips.
