27 Apr 2024 6 Weeks All Levels Split Payment Options Trips from £3695

Overview

Enjoy the full Indonesian experience with no hassle and a touch of class...

Our six week island-hopping adventure is everything Ticket to Ride is about. You will surf and experience three different islands, improving your surfing with professional tuition in the most perfect waves in the World, complimented by surf specific yoga classes.

You will learn more about surfing and push yourself more in this six weeks, than you would in 6 years by yourself.

What to Expect

Expect an island experience like no other, combining three totally different islands and types of waves into one amazing trip. Starting in Bali, we will surf the many waves around Canggu and ease you into surfing the famous reef breaks around 'The Bukit'.

The next stop is Lombok to surf some of the most beautiful waves you can ever imagine, then onto Nusa Lembongan where we will take you out at the famous Playgrounds, Shipwrecks and Lacerations (plus a little secret spot we know). For the last two weeks we fly back to Bali to spend the remainder of the trip traveling up the West Coast, where the crowds get thinner and the waves longer. 500m rides can be expected here...

With six weeks of top coaching from your Trip Leaders you will grow in confidence and your surfing will reflect this. We're mostly out on boats, so a lot of the coaching will be done from the water, but there will also be time back on land where photo and video analysis will come into play. All our surf instructors hold internationally recognised qualifications and are there to ensure overall progression, as well as your safety in the water.

Trip Timeline

Here you'll find a day by day breakdown of your course.

  • Welcome to Indo (Canggu, Bali)

On arrival in Denpasar airport you will be greeted by your Trip Leader and taken to the surf camp for the welcome beachfront barbecue. In your first week you will have surf lessons twice a day to get to know the waves and receive appropriate coaching to your current skill level. As well as this we will go white water rafting and explore the volcanic countryside and mountains.

  • Push your surfing to new heights (Canggu, Bali)

The group will venture further afield and surf many of the different waves that Bali has on offer. In between surfs you will also climb a volcano, visit the Uluwatu monkey temple and if needed, purchase yourself a new surfboard at a great price.

  • Focus on your surfing technique (Lombok)

You will fly over to Lombok with your Trip Leaders, where we will visit the small fishing village of Gerupuk and hit early morning surfs and explore surf breaks by boat. This week will focus on your surfing technique and we'll use photo and video analysis to help you improve.

  • Progress on (Nusa Lembongan)

A fun ferry ride takes you to Nusa Lembongan island, where you'll consolidate all that you've learnt so far to take on some of the most beautiful waves in the World. In between surfs you can snorkel in the lagoon in front of the accommodation. The last night will be spent in Kuta, where we will regroup before heading up the Coast...

  • Road trip! (Canggu to Medewi, Bali)

Leaving from Kuta, we head West up the Coast, stopping at Canggu, Balian and Medewi, where we will experience really, really long waves. One of the guys on last years trip clocked up a ride of over 500m! After a solid two weeks of surf, eat, surf, eat, surf, eat, sleep repeat, we head back down to Canggu for a fun-packed farewell meal, drinks and a good sleep. On the final day it's time to head to the airport, tanned, surfed out and stoked.

No, we recommend buying bottled water only.

There are loads of different types of waves to suit everyone's needs, so don't fret!

This trip is suited to both beginners as well as surfers who have some experience and want to take their surfing to the next level. Whether you’re just starting to consistently surf green waves, or looking to land your first air, our coaching team will be ready for you.

These islands tend to be low to no risk areas of Indonesia. However, we recommend checking the latest government advice on Fit For Travel and consulting your GP before you leave.

It all depends on how much you want to spend. For example, a Nasi Goreng at a local warung will cost 25,000IDR (£1.25) and a beer is 25,000IDR (£1.25), yet a fillet steak and a cocktail at a fancy place in Canggu will cost around 250,000 (£12.50). It all depends on your budget, but we tend to eat frugally most of the time.

Yes you do.

Indonesian immigration issues a holiday visa on arrival to the following countries: Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, Fiji, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, and USA.

You'll need to get a 30 day visa which are free upon arrival.

If you are staying longer (i.e. this 6-week trip) then we reccommend that you apply for an extended visa beforehand at home. Otherwise you can purchase the extended visa in Bali for around £80. You will then have to jump through hoops for a while, so we'd recommend you organise a 60-day visa in advance of the trip. If you don't arrange this in advance, our team will help organise this on the ground once in Indonesia.

Visas are only issued on the grounds that you have proof of return/onward travel out of Indonesia. You may also be asked to show proof of funds (often about £1,500), so it's always worth bringing a valid credit card for this purpose. You will also need £10 (approx 150,000 IDR) cash to pay your departure tax when leaving Indonesia – it's often included in most tickets nowadays but it does depend on the airline you fly with.
