A surf holiday in France is well known for its fine wines, great food, some of the world's best surfing beaches and a relaxed atmosphere amongst the pine forest covered sand dunes. The deep Bay of Biscay funnels North Atlantic swells straight onto the sand banks of Hossegor, Biarritz and Anglet. Combine this with warm year round temperatures, France is a must for any surfer, of any level.
The beaches around Hossegor and Capbreton are kept immaculate and they play host to major surfing competitions throughout the year, including the Quiksilver Pro Event, held every September. The area around Hossegor is also the hub of the European surf industry. With plenty of factory outlets for companies like Billabong, Quiksilver and Rip Curl, a trip shopping is a must. We will pass through Hossegor as well as many incredible French towns through our surf & cycle adventures.
Trip Stops & Accommodation
We will cycle to each spot carrying only daily supplies. The Ticket to Ride support vehicle will carry all camping equipment, surfboards and baggage and will await us at each camp for the evening where we will surf, eat, sleep, repeat.
The accommodation will be set up for you everyday upon arrival to our camp sites on route. The tents will be extremely comfortable with everything you need including a mattress to get a good nights sleep on after full day of cycling and surfing.
Your breakfast, lunch and dinner will be made and prepared by our experienced team to make sure you have plenty of energy for the trip.
Cycling and SUP
This region of France has some of fantastic cycling routes, along the coast and through the pine forrests. Bike hire is easily available, or maybe bring your own kit and cycle down from the UK for added challenge! We're based right next to Hossegor like, a nice spot for a chilled out SUP session.
With Bordeaux and Rioja on the doorstep there's plenty of vineyard tours and deals to be had.
WCT Surf Comp
Stop 9 on the 2016 Quiksilver Pro is the Hossegor! Set up camp on Plage de la Graviere and watch the world's best surfers do their thing. The energy around town is awesome, with tasty food and parties every evening, it's a great time of year to be in South West France.
